Preeminent Dutch Cycling City: Zwolle

A video of cyclists in Zwolle, Netherlands, that had gathered behind an "Advanced Stop Line" (ASL) and are now travelling en mass along a coloured cycle lane. This high level of cycling can be seen throughout the day at this location in Zwolle. Zwolle has more cycle tunnels than anywhere in the Netherlands and therefore has become known as the "segregated" city. It is considered by the Dutch to be one of the top 3 cycling cities in the Netherlands (source: www.sykkelby.no/Publikasjoner/2278/Groningen.pdf). Other top cycling cities include Delft (the "traffic reduction and traffic calming" city) and Groningen (the "contra flow" city.) Due to its extensive system of one-way streets with contra-flow lanes, Groningen is quite possibly the most innovative cycle city in Europe. It is a paragon of urban transport planning, up there with other famous examples such as Bogota, Curitiba, and Hull. When you're coming from there with a car it's pretty horrific, you just can't drive trough with al those bikers
