Here is your chance to go one-on-one with Goalrilla Academy's experts, such as head basketball instructor Troy Sowders, by personally asking them your own questions.

  • Be cautious with your forward momentum. Although there is some forward (or even angled) drift as you bound up and forward...you need to be aware of any defensive positioning that is front of you so you don't commit a charge. So work to get up into your shot..evade defenders and be under control. Know where you are going, who is in front of you and how much space you have to work with before leaving your feet. It is going to have to be a quick read but learn to evaluate the landscape.

  • Thanks again and sorry about asking so many questions but its really hard to find a coach that practices what he preaches and knows what does/doesn't work and how to teach it.

  • @GoalrillaAcademy Thanks, also is there wrist action involved (ie. when taking a shot-- without full arm extension)

  • Is it ok to let your momentum drift forward?
