We had child labor laws when I was a kid and I wasn't obese. When I was a kid I was always playing outside unlike the kids today who just play video games.

Well if you want to be productive you certainly don't want socialism or a government controlled economy. Government will always set up barries and make the economy less adaptable by regulating it and destroying true free trade.

Since when did people get the idea that taking out private capital and destroy private jobs that are always more useful and productive to society and replacing them with less productive government jobs is a good thing? It's just not!

Socialism not better - a hybrid system is better. The US is still a hybrid system anyway, not purely capitalist. The US was far more of a hybrid during the height of the cold war than it is now (70-90% tax rates). Also, just because capitalism can win fights doesn't make it better for it's people during peace time. A tank is better than winning a war than a tractor, but I know which one I'd prefer on my farm during peace.

Democrats usually (usually mind) put in sensible regulations to stop abuse and functions to even out markets to stop volatility (the original corn subsidies were used to prevent cycles of famine by stockpiling corn during booms, and releasing during bust). The Republicans changed all that by replacing the ever-normal granary with just subsidizing the difference directly, which makes them dependent on the government. This is just one example of many.

Historically it's ben Republicans that have done that? I agree that Republican are also horrible and are also for big government policies when they are in power. But philosophically they're not, but the Democrats are! Look at FDR. He truly expanded the Federal government.

And don't give me that socialism works better bullshit! Look at what happend to the USSR and the cold war. That was truly capitalism vs socialism and guess what! Capitalism WON.

Oh, also, have a look at your history. Historically it's been Republicans that destroy good incentive systems in favour of stupid ones that damage the free market. Corn subsidies are a big one that's destroying your country. I live in Australia BTW, which is positively socialist compared to the US.

Yeah it hurts the free market, but that's a good thing. The free market is vicious and inhumane, and needs to have appropriate controls on.

The democrat attitude of big government central planning is hurting the free market, creating fake demand and destroying the economy. ONly the free market is gonna work but unfortunantly "good" intenttions from people like you are ruining the country.
