Clicker Training with Minna #6 - Heel (Basic position to prevent pulling)

In this video Sophia shows the "heel" command with Minna off leash and on leash. We use clicker training to mark the proper position that Minna should walk in, and still give a correction to help Minna find the walking position when she's on leash. Enjoy, Sophia

I hope you all enjoy the video. It worked for Minna, hopefully it works for your dog... We are now taking requests for videos...like the leash walking was a request. I like the clicker training, and am impressed by Sophia's exuberance for training, but the corrections are unneeded in this day and age, as is the metal collar. Simply turning in the opposite direction, or stopping, when the dog goes out of the heel correction is enough. Actually, if a dog goes out of the position regularly, it means the command hasn't been taught or proofed well enough, and you should shorten the length of times between rewards, and lower the criteria slightly.

What are you using for treats? Ziptie likes Ball Park hotdogs best. He does not get as excited over other brands.
