  • @hejsvejk Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I've been a fan of Tommy and the Clancy Bros. for a long time and it's always gratifying to see younger generations that listen to their music. I'm glad you were able to find this song

  • Thank you for putting Santy Anno over the 10,000 viewer mark. I'm grateful that there are that many people from around the world that enjoy this type of music. I hope that all of you have a Happy Holiday.

  • @fordtruxdad I wasn't aware that there were other versions of santy anno until I heard from other viewers of their thoughts and comparisons. I like the Clancy Bros and Tommy's version the best and I totally agree that the song was sung as it would have been aboard ship.

  • @Chomuno I didn't view your comments as complaints. It seemed to me that you were expressing how deeply the music affects you. It would be nice to have a revival of folk music. Most children here in the U.S. of A., don't appreciate this kind of music. I'm glad that you do, and that you are so young and feel the way you do about artists like The Clancy Bros and Tommy Makem.

  • Clancy Bros. & Tommy Makem are part of the 'greatest generation' of Irish music, I only wish I got the chance to see their performance live, banter and all. Thank you for ensuring their work lives on by posting it here.

  • I grew up listening to the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem as my mother was a big fan. Thank you for posting this.

  • agree, agree, agree and so forth, boy have i searched for this

  • Lenardodivinci, never fear, folk music is still here! There are many local folk clubs around and plenty of younger performers participating. In my humble opinion it is only a matter of time until there is a full revival. Popular music is beginning to reflect this with the emergence of acts like Seasick Steve & Mumford & Sons.

  • One person lost touch with their inner piratey self ;)

  • This is really excellent! To me this version sounds much like it must have when sailors actually sang it.

  • @Chomuno Both
