I can't recall the title or artist of this piece (shame on me), but it consists of three neon lights which hang perpindicular to a single cable in the middle which is spun by a motor on the top. The switching on and off of the motor creates emergent patterns with the inertia of the lights.
This piece is called "Lasso" and was created by Light Artists Alejandro & Moira Siña from Boston. I've owned three of their sculptures for over 20 years, they're all still shining bright, creating an ethereal mood that continues to amaze and sooth.
Photos just don't do it justice but, to see more of their work visit: sinalightworks
