Saw Johnno last week; he's busking at Rusty's markets here in Cairns.
Kirk, my ol' mate from years ago in Sydney is living in Mount Tambourine.

i popped in to see johno the week before Johno's Blues Bar closed. Johno didn't remember me.LOL We spent a lot of time together in the 70s. Hey but then again they reckon if you can remember the 70's you weren't there. Yes he is a national treasure.

This is the Freshwater Johnno, isn't it?

Johnno, bloody blues legend, national treasure and nice bloke. Still rockin after all these years, see him at the esplanade or night markets, a true bluesman.

Thanks for stopping by. This was and still is a song that gets a smile out of me every time I hear it, so I had to share the video. The sound seems to flow so smoothly, and Johno's flamboyance is just impossible to ignore :)

Now this is an absolute classic. Johno is a big name in Cairns although his Blues Bar closed a few years ago due to the license being limited to midnight in the same week that the non-smoking laws came in.

Yeah I did some Googling and found a few reports on it. Really sucks, to me it's not a real Blues Bar unless its 2 in the morning and the smoke in the air is as thick as the bourbon in the glasses.
