September 6, 1939. The Luftwaffe leads bombing raids over northern Poland. The pre-dreadnought battleship Schleswig-Holstein bombards Polish positions on the Westerplatte. German troops are welcomed in a formerly German town - probably Graudenz.

@GaullistFan The mos recent "big" mass grave find was accidentally made in Marienburg opposite the castle. So far about 2,000 women and children, killed after it fell to the Russians. Poles blame the Russians who deny the massacre. Surviving eyewitness accounts described it as the work of Polish Militzia that followed in after the Russians .  see Spiegel online international, part 2, women and childredn died. Since then the Polish militzia officers have been identified.
