The Weehbo Effekte Morbid Drive is a high gain distortion with a ton of tone shaping tools. Start with the 4-band active equalizer -- BASS, MIDDLE, TREBLE and DEPTH (controls lower mids ~ 400Hz). These alone give you serious versatility. The MIDRANGE toggle sets the bandwidth of the MIDDLE knob: low, mid or high mid. On the top face of the Morbid Drive you will find a DYNAMIC rocker switch. This lets you set the internal supply voltage of the pedal: 9V (left) or 18V (right). Running the pedal at 18V makes it louder with increased dynamics and headroom. This is the way I would use it on stage. The 9V is great for a more compressed and less amp-like sound -- great for practice or a little extra distortion. The RHYTHM/LEAD footswitch toggles between two different gain voicings, from soft treble to fat, strong bass.

The guitar you are looking at is an ESP Custom Shop Stephen Carpenter T7. The amp is a HIWATT Custom 50 SA212. I used a Violet Design 'The Amethyst Standard' to mic the HIWATT and fed it to an M-Audio ProFire 610 soundcard. Pro Tools 9 did the recording honours and there's a Waves L3-16 Limiter on the Master Output to keep levels in check. I really like the Morbid Drive for high-gain stuff. It's unforgiving and mean, yet it has a so much potential in terms of EQ options. Highly recommended. Thanks for watching. Check out my other Weehbo Effekte demos on this channel. • You are running a regular boss type 9volt adapter? You can still use that 18v option with a 9v power supply? Thanks

  • @astro2069 Sure. It does the voltage doubling internally. Cool, eh?

  • where can you get that guitar??

  • @Fenderkid67 At the moment they're only available by special order from the ESP Custom Shop in Japan. I reckon there's less than 5 or 6 in existence. I had a word to ESP's Vice President a month ago and pressed him to do a production run of these but the answer was, "Shit man, I don't know...they'd be really expensive..". If you're really keen you can PM me and make an offer for this one. 5 figures or more. :p

  • Nice vid and demo Burg!

  • @newdayz1000 Thanks. A little laid back considering, but hopefully it will get the 'sonic' message across. :)

  • Hi,Burg!

Do you think which is better for playing heavy riffs this pedal or Okko Dominator?

I suppose both pedal are quite versatile but I can't find their obvious difference because I've never try Weehbo.

I play Nu-Metal,Grunge and Progressive Rock.

    Thanks for nice demo:)

  • @Burgerman666 Can't they make one that looks the same but is cheaper? It can't be that hard to make one. The materials used don't have to be the top of the top of the line. $10,000 or more doesn't make any sense for a guitar that can be custom made for much less.

  • i'm gonna call that guitar the chugsquire. is that okay with you?

  • @Burgerman666 They shouldn't be expensive. The material cost would only be a few hundred, factoring in electronics and body etc at whole sale you're looking at under $1k. They just mean corporate greed would make them expensive :)

  • Now that's high gain! :)

  • @Burgerman666 I bet you could probably have a different custom shop make you one, right? Jaden Rose Guitars, for instance, in the UK made a customer the Paul Gilbert Ibanez Fireman model, when they aren't actually in production and only a few of the official Ibanez ones have been made.

  • amazing! that guitar is bad ass too
