i thought that too but then i think who else is performing such art? i guess for that thought alone i had to give finley credit. if it seems self-centered at least it's art that compels people to question their morality and ethics

I often find her work very entertaining, but she's SO into herself here; I guess this is from like 25 years ago, so maybe that vibe was just part of youth. There's nothing brilliant about smashing your tits against a window. Yes, it's fascinating and provocative, but it's not as much a profound act as it is simply cloying for attention or, at best, a trite stunt that's meant to seem profound. Yawn.

I agree.
It's a bit like the old riddle: "If a tree falls in a forest, does it make a sound?" The way I heard it, the answer is no, because the definition of "sound" necessarily includes a listener: molecules vibrate, to be sure, but it's not sound.
I was greatly influenced by Jim Carroll's "Tiny Tortures." In it he suggests that the truly valid interpretation of a work is what each audience member sees while experiencing the work.

People need to dig deeper than simply being appalled by swearwords...where'd they learn that "swearing is bad" - the playground. Time to grow up and read people. Make decisions and opinions based on reality not what you were raised with. Grow up!
