Toronto city council on December 16, 2010 voted 21 to 20 not to repeal the A-Frame (sandwhich board) bylaw that prohibits businesses in China Town and Queen West to have A-Frames outside their businesses. Surprisingly the 21 councillors voting against the businesses were mostly from the right leaning members of council including the Mayor Rob Ford an ardent business advocate. Small businesses proclaim they lose up to 40% in sales when not permitted to advertise through their A-Frame signs. See article at www.directengagement.com
