This is a Crimson Fists tech marine/master of the forge I just recently finished. It was a Finecast model and while I wasn't really pleased with the model quality I think he came out pretty good. A few little tweaks to make before he is completely finished but he's mostly done.

  • this techmarine is like 30% finished,,, u have only put the basic colors on him... now u need to start layering highlighting....drybrushing maybe and finaly washes and detailing... maybe some weathering also...

but before anything else i have to ask... are u a new painter??

  • @sikamika9 it depends on your intention for the model. if this was supposed to be more than table top then i would agree. However, this particular model I was pretty disappointed with the quality and really couldn't get into putting time and effort into it so didn't do much more than the basics. I believe i said as much in the video some place. And to answer your question, I've been painting for less than a year. I dabbled several years ago but only really got into it recently.

  • Too bad about the lack of quality in the finecast. It sucks when you have to fix MORE on a more expensive model!

I definitely won't be buying any "fine" cast anytime soon!

The marine looks great bud. Thanks for sharing.

  • @TubeBkg Yea, they still have some bugs to work out of the process, that much is clear. Thanks for the feedback!

  • Superb stuff bud, just finished one of those myself ;)

  • @MarneusAugustaCalgar Thanks man!

  • @bazZy33K Definitely a matter of taste. Weathering can be done and overdone and I don't always find the right blend. It is one of those things I am still working on. Personally I like the weathered look but also like the clean look as well at times. This one could use some roughing up at some point...just not today :) Thanks for the input, always appreciated!

  • @an00bisRa1 Thanks. I always intend to get around to the weathering but not always before getting the video done and honestly I just don't get to it at all sometimes. With this one I was so disappointed with the model casting that I didn't want to put any more effort into it. At some point it will be weathered, washed, etc. Thank you for the feedback though, I appreciate it!

  • @3000whitedragon Thanks!

  • Honestly I like the toonish shading. It's not always a gain to weather and wash, but I guess it's just a matter of taste =)

    Nice job! =D
