yeah i definately agree with jakethespud, well for the most part. in Blue Like Jazz you have to stop and think about some of the chapters and you can never just stop reading if your not at the end of a chapter. ps. idk why but I always imagined him skinny but it looks like he has not always been that way. the only reason it bothers me is because i don't know how to imagine him throughout the book(because of all the different time periods
madhouse2009 I totally agree. I live in South Carolina and I went to a Catholic high school, and they considered it a sin to vote for Obama. I'm not a Democrat, but I understand that church should not embrace a particular party it was never meant to. It seems like they make Christianity more about social issues instead of spreading and teaching the Good Word.
Oh don't get me wrong. Social issues are very important. One of the current issues that is very close to my heart is the crisis in Darfur. It's awful!
What is wrong is trusting in Government when our whole trust should be in God alone. People can vote for whoever they like, but God is still sovereign, and he appoints government rulers for his purposes. We should leave the political partisanship to conversation and focus on more useful topics (such as the power of prayer) from the pulpit.
I agree, but I also think that Don is a prayerful person. After reading his books and seeing him speak in person, I can only assume that he agreed to be there because God wanted him to be. I truely believe that God has put him in the special place in his "popularity" so that HE (God) can use him in a special way.
But, at the same time, if he did do this as a "Political Boost for Jesus" then I completely agree with you.
