BBC South East Today - Glasgow Protest - Thursday 11th May 2006

A group of Haemophiliacs, Haydn, Andy E, Andy G and Andrew M included, staged a protest outside the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow, where US president Bill Clinton was due to speak. Imported blood products from the US, including Arkansas prisons, prostitutes and drug users, were contaminated with HIV and Hepatitis and used by the NHS.

At the time this news item was broadcast in 2006, 1000 Haemophiliacs had already lost their lives - this compares with 1982 deaths as of June 2010...

John Hunt reports.
