Produced by the late, great Gene Griffin and written by Timmy Arthur, this was the first single off Lateasha's second album, released in '91 on Motown. She is, from what I've read, related to Ali-Ollie Woodson of The Temptations. Though this song didn't score on the charts, I think that NJS lovers will dig it. Prior to this, she had a single out in 1989 called "Move on You" (from the album of the same name) which cracked the top-40 of the R&B charts. You can hear that one also on my channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Imk8YmhJ53M ... I seem to also remember reading that she had been a part of the Alvin Ailey dance troupe.

  • this is before mariah, funny thing is mariahs vocals these day's resemble's Lateasha's... they do look alike lol.

  • @molokat This song actually came out a year after Mariah's debut; although Lateasha did have a previous album out in '88 (you can hear one of the songs from it on my channel).

  • Hey guys, I just posted Lateasha's earlier single, "Move on You" (which actually made the R&B Top 40) here on my channel. Check it out!

  • Gene Griffin Produced it & Timmy Arthur (Artie Hoyle) Co-Produced and Wrote it. The rap was done by KoKo (Deidre Thomas) who was another artist that worked with Gene.

  • Thanks for the info! I can't find where I placed my copy of the CD!

  • Also the late Gene Griffin was an awesome producer along with my favourite producer of all time who I call Mr New Jack Swing is Teddy Riley. Back in the late 80's Gene and Teddy were a good team.

  • I did not realize Gene had passed earlier this year, but I just read about it on njs4ever. Apparently, he passed from complications of Alzheimer's. Very sad. But I know he is at peace now and knows we're enjoying and jamming to his music still!

  • Doers anyone have a copy of this song or even album???

  • Never heard of her....nice jam. Thanks for posting.

  • wow! takes me back son.

  • @sj4 Yeah, You're telling the truth. Maybe thats why I'm almost 30 and STILL SINGLE.

  • We Need New Jack Swing Back... That's Why People Today Are So Overweight

  • She is (the late, great) Ali Ollie Woodson's (oldest) daughter.

  • @ahoyle4ever Cool, I apologise for that.

  • @tlig I know what you're saying, but not this one. This was in Atlanta after Teddy went to Va Beach. The track was done by Walter 'Mucho' Scott from Basic Black. I am credited with co-producing it myself (Timmy Arthur)

  • @ahoyle4ever If Gene Griffin "produced" it, then it in all likelihood was produced by Teddy Riley.
