As much as I love the trio this ending would have made a lot more sense and would have made me less self-conscious about still being into Pokemon. In other words, the original series would have gotten the respected ending it deserved.
Even though it didn't happen I'm very glad that this information is available to see that, yes, the creators were not quite all about money to the detriment of all else. Many thanks to the kokowadokoda for posting this!

@SpeaksTooSoon well they were able to write yugi out of yugioh so why not if yugioh can do it so can pokemon i mean its wierd that ash is still ten to this day o_0
