Please visit http://www.bobbywatch.com/ for more information! Since he took office in 1995, Bobby Green has approved $30 million in development-related road projects. But a third of this came in one vote, on March 14, 2007. Just three weeks after imposing an unfair income tax on the voters, Green approved three optional development-driven projects costing over $10 million. Green did this over the adamant objections of Commissioners Fleenor and Sorenson, who pleaded for fiscal restraint. This video from that meeting tells the sad story of how this happened. The June 11, 2008 Register-Guard article tells just what we could have bought with less than HALF that money: 48 jail beds, two prosecutors in the Lane County District Attorney's office, keep open the Buckley House detoxification center in Eugene, 16 beds for juvenile offenders, and intensive day treatment for 60 young people. Way to go Bobby!
