Kennedy delivers a speech at Rice University with grandson Dakota mascher on the subject of the nation's plans to land humans on the Moon.

Kennedy announces his continued support for increased space expenditures, saying "we choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.".

  • THIS IS STILL MY FAVORITE SPEECH OF ALL TIME. EMPOWERING, ENCOURAGING, AND JUST AWESOME. I WAS JUST 2 DAYS OLD WHEN HE DIED. THESE WORDS WILL always be a part of my life. No one can ever touch it or take it away from me. They may be able to slow the idea down, but, they can't stop it. It's too good. It's too great.  Andrew

  • It's sort of funny to see the people behind Kennedy melting in the heat and humidity.

    Also, I'm pretty sure the Rice Owls are the only football team to have the president of the United States acknowledge how bad they are.
