AE86 Trueno 20v Test Run 8,000RPM+

Sorry about the bad video quality.

This is a JDM 1986 AE86 Kouki Trueno Apex that reached over 8,000RPM!!

About the car:
Under the hood is a standered 20v 4AGE silver top that has only had a port and polish clean. Nothing else has been done to the engine. It has a thick front strut brace, 2 rear strut braces and a fully strengthened half roll cage with no interior except the dash, roof padding and door trims!! A WRX gear knob, and a Omoni tacho that goes to 10,000RPM because it revs past 8,000RPM+ safely with the standered ECU!


The car was imported August last year and has under gone DIY rust repairing because it had cancer on the front of the chassis. It is half way fixed with the the rear diff sand blasted and driveshaft.

I'm not an expert on how much the torque 4ag 20v (neither silver/ black tops) can reach, but at Hidden Valley raceway it hit 8,500RPM in 3rd down the straight, still stock with a few minor tweaks. I think it's because the car weighs only just under 1,000kgs!!

@lunz893 The engine is real, I do know one pro racer has the engine from GT500. His Name is Akira Iida, he has a Toyota Corolla Levin GTV AE86 with a TRD Group A 20v Silvertop 4A-GE. The car has 230HP/9,000 RPM to stupid reliability reasons which the engine was suppose to rev to 11,500 RPM with 250 HP or somewhere there

mine too, silvertop all stock hits the 8,000 RPM. Cool vid. I've blown my head gasket and need it to be replace... would you know the part number for it?

@JDawgg910 7000 - 8000 For my turbo one. I had a 1GGE one that hit 8500 NA

BTW the 11,000rpm things a joke from Initial D haaha
