  • you set the zip ties once and it's set, do it at home, not on the trail, you don't have to do it every time you go backpacking...

  • Zip ties? No thanks....

  • how bout the amount of time it takes to set up everything. this is a winter rig. all the knots and tedious fine-tuning in the conditions i experience during winter would suck!!! i'll buy a hennesy for this summer, but as far as this winter's trips are concerned, i'll gladly stick with my tried n proven tent.

  • @sraike i agree...when things like that are sewn...it makes me nervous. My clark XL rainfly has a sewn bit at 1 end and i always am triple checking it...i dont even stake that end most times...just velcro it shut and use 1 chord to tie it to the same tree as my rig.

  • what about a prussic knot?... i don't bring big scissors with me hiking.

  • does the snake skin not work with the super shelter?

  • It's a zip strip, not a zap strap.

  • Like like the ability to open the ends and not have to feel the rope through.
