Professional photographer Mike Jones shoots on location at an exclusive yacht club in Hampshire, UK, using the Bowens Gemini and Travelpak for his lighting requirements and complete with a Sony Alpha camera.
Hi. I'm looking to purchase a new lighting system but I'm not too sure about the wireless triggers. I use a Sony camera and I have an adapter to use it with. The photographer here seems like he is using an adapter too but I was wondering if he had any troubles with getting the flashes to work. I tried this out on an elinchrom lights but they weren't too reliable. Is there anywhere I can see his experiences on using Bowens with Sony?
@sonyalphamale Hi, I'm afraid that I don't have any information as to how reliable the triggers were on Mikes camera. He has never said to me that he's has had any triggering issues when using an adaptor with his Sony camera and a Pulsar. I actually have an A900 here in the office which I use everyday with an adaptor (that I bought from amazon for about £3) and a Pulsar trigger and have never had any issues. I hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions. Regards, David.
@bowenstv Hey David. Thanks for the quick reply and info about the triggers. I'll be looking more into it soon and trying it out at one of the camera stores when I get the chance.
