  • @ZakkWyldeand3DG - It's not a bad habit. People put there thumb on the pickup, on the top string, on the fretboard, whatever. It's whatever is more comfortable for the player. and quite frankly, I think putting it on the fretboard is the most ridiculous of all of them lol. The only people I see do that are the people that have started out on a stand-up bass. which is very few.

  • And besides, I usually rest my finger on the top string. I know when to take it off, it just happens. it's never effected anything other than the clarity of my sound - which it improves.
