This technique teaches a number of tactics for combat and martial arts training. First, lower your center of gravity and prepare to fight. Following are some of the lessons learned with this one combination move:

Leg and knee block - lifting the knee up and turning it to the inside to redirect the incoming attack

Side kick the ground leg as an application for a side kick.

Next, strike out to the eyes as a break up using a reverse hand snapping finger strike.

Close the distance and put your hands onto the shoulders as you apply a few knees to the body.
The takedown consists of you gripping the shirt, jacket, gi of the shoulder with your right fist. Then, you do a side flat fall as you drop all your weight down (pulling on that shoulder point). Once on the ground you will use your leg to trip.
The tripping leg is brought up to kick to the head and used as a distraction so that you can come into the mount. Be sure that as you roll, your free hand goes directly over the eyes so that you limit your opponents visibility.

  • When I imagine a street fighter, I imagine a thug who is pretty strong, tough, and has experience in street fighting. So as an average person, who maybe knows a couple of self defense techniques, and watches some MMA (everyone on youtube), his best bet is to stay out of the thugs comfort zone where he has the advantage, and put him on his back.

  • Multiple attackers is a different story. In that case, you do what ever you can to run away, same thing goes for when your opponent has a bladed weapon. I'm talking about when some asshole picks a fight with you for whatever reason. Also, don't confuse me with one of those ignorant fanboys that think grappling is the answer to all problems; you obviously have to throw some punches in there or w.e you can pull off.

  • @Charkoly2 I love grappling but will avoid it in a street fight. It doesn't take a lot of knowledge for the others to stomp you out. Grappling with more than one person (trained or not) is next to impossible. My college Jui-jistu teacher used to have us drill against two people. Called it survival mode and that was strictly grappling. i can't imagine adding elbows, knees, and stomps.

  • It's annoying how everyone says to avoid the ground in a street fight; the average thug doesn't know what to do once he's on the ground, even your average UFC fanboy/douche wont take the time to learn sweeps and escapes, so if you feel more comfortable taking it to the ground, then go ahead. It's easier to subdue an assailant from the ground anyway, especially if he's bigger than you, you just gotta know what you're doing.

  • @InazumaKage that's true. lots of street fights go to the ground. but by what logic does that mean that you should take it there??? Going to the ground is an absolute last resort. Why do this fancy crap, when you can just drop a few eblows to the head/groin shot after the knee, disengage and get the fuck outta there? Street fights are about survival and doing your best not to get injured.

  • you are an idiot if the attaker have a frind he will kick your head when you are in the floor you shouldnt go to ground in a self defense situation

  • I thought that you were training Ninjutsu, this is more like some sort of Musado, kickbox or Krav Maga. What is this?

  • That is brilliant. Well done. The opening move, the block, is a good seup, or just something to frustrate the other guy, like constanty parrying, with the hands.

  • thats a nice combo ;]
