This is the first time the 41 Chevy drove out of the garage under it's own power. It's maiden voyage! It still has a few bugs to work out but heck it was a stock broke down 41 Chev pickup and a 87 Chev Caprice six months ago.
We took the 87 frame and welded the center section of the 41 into it and boxed the older frame then cut the outer part of the 87 frame off and started building. The engine (350 and a 700R4 tranny) had to go back six inches from the stock location of the Caprice and it's still tight in the front. This is the first time I have even been part of basically building a rig from almost scratch.
The inside is just fixed up nice enough that it will be nice to be in and the outside is just the way it was when I got it except for a coating of Rustmort on the bed. I plan to keep it looking just the way it is for a while and maybe for ever who knows. Thanks John, (my Brother in Law) who did most of the welding, Helped me get the body on the new frame setup and was the guy I called when I had questions, helped me with the engine and was there to help me get it going today. Way cool. Enjoy, Rob
I will be posting more to come for sure.

If you have leaf springs what I would do that would be the easiest is to drill out all the rivets that hold the mounts in place and move them forward equally and redrill the holes and use grade 8 hardware to bolt them in place. If it's coil in the back (I can't remember what suspension those have) then you can always cut the frame in a straight place and then weld it together with a long channel inside the frame to brace past the cut and the fishplate the cut area. my email is rcl500@msn.com
