With regards to Denmark. We did have a good, but young team.

We started the qualifying campaign bad, drawing away at Greece and at home against Bulgaria in 1988. Then in 1989 we had to win the rest of the games. We beat Bulgaria 2-0 away. Then beat Greece 7-1 at home, and the crushed leaders Romania 3-0 at home. Then went to Romania needing only a draw to qualify. However the team fell apart and lost 3-1. However 3 years later some of the players got there revenge during euro 1992.

Sweden was good that year, and did qualify for the World Cup 90. They didnt come to Denmark with there strongest team, allthough the team did have some of the better players with them like Stromberg who was playing in Serie A.

Actually I was at the game. My very first game with the national team. I was 10 and it was a great experience.

in my opinion the best ever player in his position

(i mean central midfielder, not attacking or defensive midfielder or a winger)

he was just a playmaker who came to his dehenders got the ball, made short passes, great dribbles and made numerous assists

his football personality was aswell amazing , he is one of less selfish players ever

I read somewhere that he in his career never got a red card- a true gentlemen

@CadenWolves I remember that WC qualifying campaign well. Cos it was probably a campaign that saw Brian Laudrup starting to make a name for himself, like his brilliant solo goal in that 3-0 win Vs Romania. I were a hugh Michael Laudrup fan, because of WC86. Later I heard he got a younger brother. And rarely did you have two brothers who are equally talented. So I didn't expect much from young Brian, until I saw him play. What a player, young Brian!

Denmark perfectly beat the off-side trap every time. Some of Sweden's defending was absolutely shocking but I understand this wasn't their strongest line-up. Although this Danish generation was in transition - the 86 team was past it's best and the 92 team was still very young - I still would've liked to have had DK at the 1990 WC instead of Sweden. I didn't find the Swedes a good team whatsoever at Italia 90.
