@cowpuncher1968 The girder definitely landed on one poor guy for sure. Can't imagine he survived.

OH MAN! I HATE WHEN SHIT LIKE THIS HAPPENS! And most of the time it is usually preventable. I've been a plant supervisor and I can not stress HOW MANY times I had to chew somebody some serious ass for NOT FOLLOWING safety protocols. Especially on forklifts. I'd let everybody know is not a racecar, but If I catch you then that was it, no more forklift duty for six months or a year. They don't seem to realize that thing will CRUSH YOU easily. I feel bad for the guy crushed here. It's not funny.

@cowpuncher1968 Thank you for explaining ;) In the factory i work, we have a double girder, each one with a crane fitted ;) But still.. the cables have to be expected every 6 months i believe. I have never seen an inspector in 2 years :s Would think at least the cables have to be inspected .. or not ? Greetz.

@transploft8 I'm a crane safety inspector. what you 've seen is called a shockload as the bucket rolled over sudden massive increase in load cause the wire rope to stretch like a rubber band and the single girder to bow like a leaf spring on your car then a sudden release of load caused that crane to literally jump into air and off its runway. notice man on top of bucket I never see him again I believe the hoist and trolley land on him.

At work here we have a double beam, in this vid. it seems the crane de-railed.
If you think otherwise, please share ;)
And will that D U M B AS S sitting on that thing thats gonna be lifted be fired for not paying attention at the safety rules ?

... I had one of those beam-crane fuckin' go on me- back in '71. it didn't fall- however both the active & back-up brakes failed- with 13.5 tons of steel wire spools strung-up on it. the thing was rated for 20 tons- dropped the load in slo-mo right on top the plants scale- I mean, Right-on-top of the huge scales' gigundus dial. the load was balancing perfectly on top- it couldn't go up, down or sideways. stuck. the brake bands welded 'emselves to the cable rotor-drum. & ring! my shift ended...

@bc14canada bwahahahahaha that's the best part!! His friends start running and he takes one step forward to put himself directly underneath and then SPLAT.

The crane moved on it's own.
You can see there is a guy working on top of the dump body.
It just starts to move and he doesn't know why it's moving.
Maybe the brake let go on the right side, but not the left, enabling it to twist enough to come off the rails

@Jared543 A fucking hard hat would of not helped at all you dum ass.
I don't think thats funny. look at the far left of the screen you can clearly see a worker being crushed.
