From the Blackthorne in East Durham , N.Y. . Irish musician Pat Floody plays accordian with my father Brendan O'Connor on vocals. Brendan came to New York from Dublin when he was 18. He became an Ironworker in local 197 Stone Derrickmen and Riggers Union and hit the Irish music scene immediately playing with some of the best musicians in the area. Joe "Banjo" Burke, Johnny Cronin, Tom Doherty, Paddy Brennan, Kenny McLeod, Nick Shanahan, The Cara Band and so many others over the years. With steady gigs in The Bronx and Long Beach as well as his own 2 bars he had during the 70's and 80's. These days my dad is in the Myrtle Beach area. Since this video was shot my Dad's health has gotten much worse from Parkinson's. And the Irish pub sing alongs aint what they used to be without him sitting at the bar with his guitar in hand.
This is great you're father Brendan was one of my fathers best friends!
