  • i so wanna see one of those any of them still around?

  • @celica825 Try the Western New York & Pennsylvania, based out of Olean, NY. The Delaware-Lackawanna at Scranton also has 3 six axles but seldom runs all 3 at the same time. The WNYP runs trains daily with 3 or 4 of them south to Driftwood, PA

  • Nice, love the smoke. I have two CN C424's and two CN C630M's on the way. Why are they running the engines with the panel doors open. Heat?

  • Yep! These scenes were taken during a hot summer, and these units tended to run hot. One scene I have that is not in the video is a set of C424's pulling into Sherbrooke westbound after climbing the grade into town, with all the hood doors open. The engineer cuts the power off and all you hear is alarm bells ringing on all 4 units. A shop guy in coveralls was waiting for them to stop, and while the crew got orders he watered them and shut off all the alarms.

  • Loved it! Great chugging of ALCos is usually not consistently throughout a clip but it was in yours. Thanks and great job!

  • I didn't believe they were Alcos until I saw all of them spewing black smoke. Classic vid! Thanks for posting!

  • @fmnut neat, ALCo's are my favorite engines. My dad is from a railroad town in the Gaspe, New Carlisle. Many of my Great Uncles/ Grandfathers worked for CN or Quebec Oriental. My grandfather drove RS-18's, C630M's, RSC-14's, RDC's...

  • Darn it. If the wife and I made that trip, I would wanna hear her run or at least idle.... OK, plan B, ummm..... crap, got nothin...... Thanks for all your info though, your a good guy. Dean

  • I'm not sure if it has all the parts or if some were removed prior to donation to the museum. I don't think they would run it even if operable account being such a big unit for the museum trackage.

  • Thanks for the info, that will be a great road trip this summer! Oh... does she still run?
