What are you all talking about? Arctic is already divided into 5 sectors by all 5 arctic countries. North Pole point is common or neutral. Russia already has the biggest slice - almost half of the entire pie. We do not need canadian or other's slice. Putting flag in that spot is only representation that we were first. Like americans put flag on Moon.

Russia drilling for oil under the Artic Ocean? My God you know that's going to be an enviromental ocean disaster in the making. It will be the Chernobyl version of Offshore Drilling. It will dwarf the Deep Water Horizon, Ixtoc, Odyssey and Gulf War Oil Spills combined.

when the time will come that does oil and gas reserves will be really needed, the artic will go to canada, because NATO will want those resources, and russia can't do shit against NATO.They can plant their flag on seafloor It wont change anything.And anyway the artic is canadian territory,If you look at a north pole map,you'll see that canada's territory reaches further towards the pole than russia,so yeah they can have some of it but the major part is canadian.
