Season 1, Episode 8 Original Airdate: November 20, 1959
Starring: Burgess Meredith, Jacqueline DeWitt, and Vaughn Taylor
This episode was adapted from a short story by Lyn Venable printed in 1953. It's the story of a man who loves books, yet is surrounded by those who would prevent him from reading them.
Opening Narration: "Witness Mr. Henry Bemis, a charter member in the fraternity of dreamers. A bookish little man whose passion is the printed page, but who is conspired against by a bank president and a wife and a world full of tongue-cluckers and the unrelenting hands of a clock. But in just a moment, Mr. Bemis will enter a world without bank presidents or wives or clocks or anything else. He'll have a world all to himself, without anyone."
Closing Narration: "The best laid plans of mice and men and Henry Bemis, the small man in the glasses who wanted nothing but time. Henry Bemis, now just a part of a smashed landscape, just a piece of the rubble, just a grafment of what man has deeded to himself. Mr. Henry Bemis in the Twilight Zone."

You know what bothers me the most about these copyright laws..Even though I am a fairly strong supporter in certain cases with music and some other art; what the fuck is the point of taking down material when it's not even avaiable anywhere else!? Has anyone else ever ran into this same issue?
As vast as space and as tight-less as infinity it is the middle ground between light and shadow between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of mans fear and the summit of his knowledge, the dimension of imagination

I love Burgess Meredith. What a talented actor he was. So versatile.
