I have a 2011 faded brown Gibson Les Paul Studio and it sounds and plays amazing. I'm currently playing through a low-end B-52 half stack and it sounds awesome. Faded finish Les Paul guitars do have humbuckers. They also have chambered bodies. If you know what a humbucker pickup looks like you would know that. @plazma619 I'd say buy one. I've been playing for years and I've had a lot of guitars and it's a joy to play. Theres a vid on my channel doing a short demo.
@plazma619 The only difference between normal and faded studio models is the pickups. Normal have 490R and 498T, which have a slightly increased output and sound more modern. Faded have Burstbucker Pros, which are humbuckers, NOT single coils. These sound more vintage, like PAFs.
different guitars man. I just bought a studio, and apparently the fadeds are a much worse model. Lower quality wood and different pick ups I think. New fadeds have burstbucker pros (which are single coils) which is what the standards moved to a couple of years ago, but regular studios have a 490r and a 498t (which are humbuckers). Have a look on gibson and it will tell you the difference between the two down to the colour of the screws on the truss rod cover
im thinking of getting a les paul studio faded, is it the same sound and quality as the normal studio just a different finish or is there a difference. greatly appreciated if you could respond :)
