The monastery is a Hindu one, and HIndus are into cows; it is in fact part of Hindu dharma to take care of cows if one has the means to do so. What better place to raise cows in a peaceful setting than a monastery, and using the milk (yes, they are milked by hand daily) in the worship that goes on there?
Far from their natural habitat? What exactly is the "natural" habitat for a cow? I can't recall ever seeing one in the wild.
What's with the Zebu cows?? Redwood mountains are about as far removed from it's natural habitat as you can get. How can it be naturally sustainable?? What are a herd of exotic pets doing in a 'monastery' anyway??
thank you. more of these, please!
