  • Is the thing that says G5 on it the processor? And how much do those drive cost?

  • yes, the processors are behind the G5 and a drive will depend upon how large it is. You can get a 500GB under $100.00 though.

  • Thanx for responding! ANd is it possible to add more processors?

  • No, you can not.

  • Depends, what's the largest SATA drive you can buy? There is no real limit on drive size in the G5

  • Thank you.

  • What should I use if I don't have the screws in the side?

  • @grahambanks Well G5 is better than G4. G4 will not boot up if the cd disc drive is damaged, even though I don't even want to use the disc drive. gay

How did you feel about it during the winter? :)

  • Is there a limit to how large that second hard drive can be? Does it have to be under 500GB for os x 10.5 to use it correctly?

  • The only thing I hate about Mac g5 is a constant flow of heat coming out by the fans. This thing gets so hot my apartment is literally at least 80 degrees at all times. Pretty screwed up when I payed 500 used. I didn't know it would lower my standards of living.

  • Wow! 250gb hard drive!

  • is it possible to replace the g5

  • @blueblob4 I was wondering the same thing, I have the 1.8 single. While it would be real nice to have a second processor, the 1.8 is quite a beast in itself, and if you jack up the ram to its 8gb capacity the speed at which it runs is really more than you need. Whenever you think about how it could be faster, just think of how excited you were when you bought that first 200Mhz PC oh so long ago and how blazingly fast it felt.

Lol, it doesnt matter if you enable journaling before installing your OS.

The only thing one has to know is to re-format the drive including the partition table (it should be APM, and not MBR). The rest is simple enough.
