This is in loving memory of my very dear friend, Mildred Shirk. Her husband, Jack, is the brother of my wonderful, late friend, Jeff. When Jeff passed away suddenly, first, Mildred, then later on, Jack who came from the U.S. to visit his beloved Mildred, sought me out to comfort me. They became like my brother and sister. I would also correspond with Jack & Jeff's Mom, Carole, who has been so sweet towards me. From my parents and myself, our deepest condolences to the families Shirk and Lumbao, and all who loved Mildred. She was a wonderful woman who will be sorely missed. (*Erratum: She was born in 1970. Sorry for getting the year wrong. I thought she would have turned 40 this year.)

  • @Ninnisworld2901 thank you very much. i'm so touched when even people who didn't know her take the time to comment. :) nice to know that i'm keeping her memory alive. best wishes!

  • Even so I do not know Mildred, never got to know her and her family, it touched me deeply to see such a beautiful memorial video, I do not understand why this happy, healthy looking, young woman had to pass away and leave her loved ones behind...my sincerest respects to the family and friends, from Germany

  • Thank you very much for taking the time to watch my slide show for my dear, late friend. You were so kind to do this, as well as to comment. Yes, she was a really special person, as you are, too. :) I guess this is one reason you can truly see the beauty in Dwight & Laura Frye, too, both inside and out. Takes one to know one. :) I'm really enjoying our writing each other. You take good care of yourself. :)

  • This was very touching and lovely. I did not know her of course, but she seemed so beautiful inside and out, as you said here. You've done a wonderful job of honoring her memory.

  • Loved ones of Mildred who see this, you might want to please leave your comments, for her family and friends to read, too. Thank you very much. May God be with all of us as we miss her. Thank you.

I'd really appreciate it if you please read my description of this slide show, where I tell how I became friends with them. Jack especially has been so wonderful to me, bec. I still very much miss Jack's bro, Jeff...and now we will miss Mildred, too.God takes the best ones,to be close to Him, I guess. God bless you.
