Happy passengers are having a great time on a crowded train, oblivious to the unknown fate that awaits them around the bend. After a breakdown, a class struggle ensues that is as amusing as it is merciless. Naturally there are victims, but in the end everyone is equal.
Cordell Barker, who directed The Cat Came Back and Strange Invaders, is once again at his best with Runaway. Set to the music of Ben Charest (composer of the Triplets of Belleville : http://www.lestriplettesdebelleville.com), Runaway takes you on a journey that is both funny and disastrous.

"Cartoons with no message"? What Pixar film, short or long, can you say that about?

6 years! It's incredible the level of patience and discipline it takes to complete an independent animated film like this! Working alone in a room for 6 years! Respect! Most indy animators like this have to stay single or marry a lady in the animation industry who understands. I'd love to see a pairing with Cordell Barker and Richard Condie again!

Glad to know he has a new cartoon coming out!
He is an extremely talented animator, and I just wish we had his caliber of talent in the States, but alas, all we have to show is cartoons with no message.
It seems to me that Mr. Barker's animations are on par with those of any other great in history such as George Pal, etc.
My hat is off to Mr. Barker!
