How to remove and replace your starter. Pretty easy fix as far as automotive repair goes (normally). Most starters are located on the passenger side under the vehicle as long as the bolts arent too hard to get to, it shouldn't take you more than 20 minutes. Part cost for this video 1 starter = 50 bucks. If you can't fit under your car... Jack it up, if you don't know how to do that.. don't do this. By all means give advice and criticize, I will post the more helpful comments in the videos annotation.

  • Thank you so much for the tutorial! I almost had to remove the alternator in my wife's van (it's showing its age!), when a mechanic friend of mine told me to whack the starter with a hammer to see if it turns over. I did, and the van fired up. So, what I have to do is remove the starter and take it to my son's job at AutoZone to test it. It could be the solenoids. It could be the starter itself. I won't know until they test it. Now, I just have to get it out first. :)

  • @hawktb9 damn newer cars. I know what you mean, I swear they do that just to piss us shade tree mechanics off. I can see the designers of the cars laughing as they draw up the blue prints now "LOL hey Joe! Look where I put the starter! It will take them twice as long! WA HA HA!!" ... :( Good luck with that starter/solenoid man. Good for you for doing it yourself! :)

  • Very well done. and entertaining
