Severn Bore Wipeout Blooper! 02/03/2010

Pwned by a 5* bore while filming on the banks of the River Severn near Minsterworth, 2nd March 2010. Enjoy my cringeful seagul-like screaming as I get wiped out!

Ha! I fell in lower down! Not as cold as it looked, huh?

yeah weirdly that's what I was thinking- considering the ground was pretty frozen, the water was quite warm!

Yeh I enjoyed it, although i would have preferred being in the water to being stuck on the banks watching. High river levels=good wave lower down ( like Newnham). Low water + good wave higher up (above Minsterworth) Sometimes the river level is right for the whole river to work..not today though. It was never GOING to work at Over and Maisemore. Pity, becuase it would be nice for one-off visitors to see it at it's best.

It was a shame, there were so many people lined up along the bridge to see it who only saw a ripple! Felt bad, hopefully they can watch it online and go back next year for a better view! Do you surf it then? I managed to get in the water nonetheless... unintentionally... lol

I do, or rather, I'm one of the few bodyboarders that get in regularly. I got smashed into the banks at the initial break near the Severn Bore Inn last year..snapped the cartilage in my wrist. I had keyhole surgery last week.

Lol just the crazy rush of being attacked by a bore haha I had been expecting it to be bore-ing (ahem) but was nicely surprised! I probably did bump into you, but only remember an old man surfer (respect) and a para-glider sorry! Did you enjoy it- some people were disappointed, further on, there was no bore at all, just a bit of a swell!
