Getting the upgrade via the guy on ebay seems to be on the backburner now :(, so I'm hoping Dragonlord gets some more metal parts and I hope to do business with him instead. I'm just longing for something more akin to a prop than a toy.

A guy was selling one on eBay recently that went a little further. He modded an AAA battery compartment into the handle for much needed weight, and it also meant phaser 1 and phaser 2 worked independently of each-other. He also managed to enlarge the retractable sight window, and added silver leaf onto the top of the type I sight window/grille. The rest of his upgrades were the same as yours. I missed the end of the auction, but got hold of the guy and begged him to upgrade mine...he agreed. :)

Great post, but the word is pronounced "metal". It has a "t" in it, not a glottal stop!
