Come Thou Fount
New Horizon Church, Durham, NC
May 04, 2008

Come, Thou fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace.
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
Mount of God's redeeming love.

Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Hither by Thy help I come.
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wand'ring from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.

Oh, to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wand'ring heart to Thee:
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love.
Here's my heart, Lord, take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.

  • Hey Alastair, I'm a teenager and regular attender of NHC. I just wanted to let you know how much I love your voice. It really brings something special to the already amazing worship that we have. Your an inspiration to many, keep it up!

  • Thanks!

  • I have said it before and I'll say it again your voice is simply beautiful. I pray for you and you ministry often. God bless you and all who hear your music!

  • Thanks for praying for me.

  • Very nice Alistair!!! Why are you not playing the guitar? You play so well, do they not recognize that aspect of your talents yet? If not, send them to me. I WILL tell them.

    LOL

    Nice,

    In Christ

    Bruce and Berni

  • Ha ha! Thanks! I'll be the first to admit my guitar skills could be better! For now it's good for me to get experience singing without the guitar to hide behind.

  • where do live? (what state)

  • Twas Wonderful.

    I was wondering if theres a version with the 4th stanza -

    O that day when freed from sinning,

    I shall see Thy lovely face;

    Clothed then in blood washed linen

    How I'll sing Thy sovereign grace;

    Come, my Lord, no longer tarry,

    Take my ransomed soul away;

    Send thine angels now to carry

    Me to realms of endless day.
