On February 3rd, 2009 the Finance Committee held a public hearing on the state of the town budget. The issue of real estate depreciation in Wayland was an important topic of discussion because this drives the size of the towns tax base. A citizen came to the microphone to speak about an example of how one property dropped from an asking price of $650K to $405K. The following is his first hand observation.
