We would be better to establish a colony and space station on earth's moon! If we did this, our turnaround time, and rescue abilities, if needed, would be feasible. Building a base on the moon would prove to be economical and beneficial to all on earth. It would be a more stable stepping stone for which to launch, literally, to other planets, asteroids and systems. Let's do it first!

China has planned ISS launch for 2011. Assuming they have scientific interest and want to replicate the ISS. Likely the goal is military & proving superiority to USA.
other countries are going for manned moon.
I hope that Pvt. Co's. can put manned missions outside LEO.
Highly unlikely as most Pvt. Co's. will take the govt. funding, use the money for their own gain and at the end create some power point presentation that has fake numbers.

NASA needs to work with these private space entreprenuers while still utilizing the space shuttles in the meantime. Obama can use that stimulus money to help in this transition. IN fact, why can't NASA do what the Russians have done, and charge and train private citizens for trips up to the space station?
