This video is a little over a minute long and deals with a small problem some Dunlop Straplock users have with installation of what I personally believe to be the BEST and most secure system available. If I wasn't running my mouth I probably would have done the entire procedure in less than 30 seconds...

This video was taken by my beloved 15-year old son Nelson Skyler, who passed away unexpectedly on 25 May 2006. Nelson was an avid photographer and his dedication to filming this video is evident. We had a LOT of FUN making this vid, as I had to do several takes at performing the demonstration!

Nelson enjoyed working with cameras of all types and would certainly be proud if this video helped people with those sometimes pesky straplocks. Yes, there were times years ago when I stabbed myself with screwdrivers trying to install those things! ;)

Here is a link to the Dunlop page where many varieties of their straplocks can be seen: http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?page=products/accessories&cat=13

***31 Jan 2012: Nearly six years after the upload of this video, the number of views, comments of support, and reports of successful installs has been overwhelming. I am very happy that this video has been of help to many of you and I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to comment! Click "like", share, and leave a comment if we've helped; and above all-- Rock on!***

  • I looked up this video just out of curiosity. It turns out that you (Bundy1) also use the same method for installing/removing them as I do. I KNEW it had to be the right way. Too bad the strap locks don't come with accurate instructions.

  • @doordieace5high Great minds think alike! This HAS to be the easiest way to do it; I mean, if I can disassemble/assemble in 60 seconds or so-- we have to be doing something right!

Love your screen name. Up the Irons! ;)
