In the previous water level measurement video, the water line jumps around a lot as waves are induced in the water. This video provided to GaugeCam by Arci Jeico Malabanan of University of the Philippines Los BaƱos shows why that happens. The individual water edge points are shown rather than the line calculated from those points. Notice that bubbles below the surface of the water can also cause problems with the water level find. Statistical techniques to identify and ignore outliers can help mitigate this problem.
