Karl Gol - Annunaki from Nibiru

Back in 2003 I met and started jamming with 2 Newcastle Musos, Singer/Bassist David Bennett and Drummer David Marshall. We were all heavily into progressive rock. I don't remember which of them started the ball rolling (let's just say it was Dave - LOL) but I was given a recording of the drum and bass tracks for this song mixed together and nothing else - I then loaded the wave file into Logic and went to work recording improvised guitar solos, additional guitar harmonics to double Dave Bennett's clever bass harmonic lines, various guitar noises and whammy antics with trippy effects and even some pan flute. There are one or two overdubs in the main solo but you would need to be quite observant to pick them. I called this track "Annunaki from Nibiru" as Dave Bennett was into Zecharia Sitchin's writings about the Annunaki and Planet X (Nibiru - the fabled "10th planet").

The guitar playing in this track was inspired by my favourite guitarist Ed Wynne of Ozric Tentacles. I played an Ibanez USA Custom electric - effects were produced by a Digitech GP 2112.
