The following movie is an initial test flight with a gyro stabilized camera, resting on a rig, that is for safety reasons is strapped onto the left rear seat of our R44 helicopter. In this case, a fast moving object.
Gyro system: AerialExposures with KEN-LAB KS-8 gyros
Camera: Panasonic´s AJ HPX 2100

Thanks to the people at "dc3vennerne.dk", translates into "DC3 Friends", for their kindness to participate in this testflight.

  • Sorry for the late answer. The gyro (4 of them) and camera is strapped to a rear seat, manually operated by the photographer from the other rear seat. It does require a steady hand both from the photographer and pilot, if you want to avoid too many "bumps" in the video.

  • Was the camera operated by a person or mounted to the helicopter? Was it just one Kenyon gyro or more?
