This film portrays a Washington DC native, Kenny Allen (a.k.a K'Alyn), a talented singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, whose music is a rich amalgam of organic jazzy grooves and poetic, thoughtful lyrics. In December 2005, Kenny left the US for Ethiopia, to team up for an initial six-month residency with the veteran 4 Star Band at Addis Ababa's, Harlem Jazz. Five years later he is still there, leading some of the top modern bands in Ethiopia. Kenny Allen's sonic collage artfully weaves themes of love, spirituality and compassion. His compelling songs resonate with an honesty and emotion rare in an age of formulaic acts. His new album "The 251" is a unique musical showcase that through the lens of the singer's experiences in Ethiopia, narrates a universal story of the happier possibilities of cultural contact.

i saw this brother while I was visiting back home Addis Ababa that is, he plays every friday night at Webbe-berha Resturant which is in Edna mall. He is good people. I agree with him about Ethiopia. I went and it taught me so much humility. I absolutely love Ethiopia. The people are amazing.....the love I have for Ethiopia is UNbREAKABLE!!
