Chapter 5

Mackenzies P.O.V

The bell rang and I headed out of the cafeteria. I turned a left and I saw Nick in his locker with a guy friend. He looked so smart in the way he looked inside his locker, but he never seemed to carry any books. Weird..must have been really smart.

However, soon as I passed by he closed his locker. He and his friend started walking to class, and to my luck, they both walked right behind me.

Dont trip! Dont trip! Id tell myself.
I didnt wanna make a complete fool of myself. Yet, it didnt matter. He had no idea who I was. No complete idea that I even existed.

But after a while I turned in the corner and entered my class.

3 Periods Later.

It was my lunchtime and I walked to my locker. I left all my books in there and walked to the cafeteria. I looked around to find Mikaela.

*There she is!* I said and I walked up to her. She was sitting at our usual table. It was only us two, but other people sat there too. I had no idea who they were, but they were surely Nicks friends.

*Hey!* I said to her as I sat across from her.
*Ohh hey! Hungry?* she asked.
I stood up and looked around to see if there was a line. There was a small line.
*Umm..a little,* I told her. Then I looked to my right and saw Nick. He sat on the table right next to ours. He was high-fiving all his friends. He had just gotten in the cafeteria. So weird that he only sat with a bunch of guys. Doesnt he have friends who are girls too?
*Alright..then lets go,* she said. And we both stood in line.

*I really dont like school food,* I told her.
*Hmm..me neither. But what are we gonna do?* she said.
I shrugged my shoulders. But then suddenly a guy stood right in back of us, technically her. I turned around. He was the guy whom Mikaela always died to make me fun of. I have no idea why. Just because Id happen to have Science and Biology with him in the previous years she thinks know we have chemistry? Not funny at all.

*Ohh..look whos right behind me,* she said with a smirk.
*Not funny,* I said to her as I continue looking forward as the line began to move.
*Ohh come on..hes cute, isnt he?* she said.
I rolled my eyes. He was cute, but I didnt like him. That made sense, right?

Ive talked to him a couple times before in class. Weve even worked together on assignments, but nothing. I knew I didnt like him. I guess you can say we were class friends, but just that. His name was Anthony.

The line kept moving closer and closer. And when I turned around, I found Mikaela talking to him. How weird is it that a random girl walks up to you and talks to you?
