Didnt the Vegas realize after 73 episodes that there saucers have no effect on grandizer yet they sent them anyway???

what was the purpose of that tractor beam as it was dragging grandizer towards that large spike laser gun to collide? it happened anyway and broke??? where was the super vegan robot to at least challenge grandizer and destory those other annoying ships??? what a bad final episode
