This song is great no matter who performs it.The early 70's music has staying power and still sounds great after all these years. Thanks for sharing this and to Rob Grill and The Grass Roots for covering the Hamilton Joe Frank & Reynolds classic, which they originally turned down recording.

This wasn't one of the Grass Roots' official songs, but before it was done by Hamilton Joe Frank and Reynolds in the early 70s, it was offered to the GR. They passed on it. Not a particularly good decision in retrospect, as they opted for Two Divided By Love which didn't have nearly the same amount of success as Don't Pull Your Love.

Rob always gave all that he could give, and that was a lot! I"ve seen him with his leg in a cast...seen him doing the show on crutches....and seen him do a show seated for part of the show. The last time was march 2010, and he stood the whole show. He moved slowly, but he was STILL all over that stage. And he sounded great, as always. Truly ...THE VOICE of the GR. ~~~~Love you Rob.

This song was made for HJF&R.....GR were great but the right call was for HJF&R and I don't think the GR did this song well enough to have the hit it was.

I saw them in Boston a few Summers ago. They were very entertaining. Was he seated for the whole show or just that one song? I ask because looking at his face he doesn't look too good. He sounds great though.
He wasn't seated for the whole show, but most of it. He seemed to be in a lot of pain.. and in some close ups, you can see his right hand looks pretty swollen.
