  • The animation from 7:10 to 7:15 looks neat. It actually looks a little more modern that I almost thought that it was from a later time period than the 40's like maybe the 70's or 80's. I mean just check out Superman's face in that scene.

  • "Looks like a great night for a murder or a fire or something." Clark is so positive.

  • A) I've never seen this one before. Thanks for posting!

    B) A great episode for Lois: risking herself to save that little girl? Now THAT'S the woman Superman loves!

    C) In later years, super-breath alone would have taken care of the ape, AND the fire.

  • That gorilla definitely not King Kong - in fact, that gorilla was dangerous and scary.

  • @RedPetrol76

Yeah, I do notice, but you'll have that in almost any movie or cartoon with outsize creatures.

and yeah, this is the first Superman cartoon I remember seeing too :)

  • Very nostalgic feel...I think that this was the first Superman cartoon I ever saw.

P:S Anyone else noticed that the size of the gorilla alternates between scenes?

  • The camera work, and layout in this is great. Too bad about the stretched aspect ratio of this version. Super short.

  • @ztslovebird .The Superfriends animation was never awful are even choppy,it was the best classic animation wise.

  • @rockerroller00 Thank you that's who I was talking about.

  • @Nockyout I Think it's based on a combination of King Kong, and the real life circus gorilla from the 30s and 40s, Gargantua the Great. If you look up old photos of posters Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey used to promote Gargantua, they look similar to the posters shown at the beginning of this ape.
